The work of the ice rink had to be automated to control payment for skating sessions and visitors' access to the ice area.
Skolkovo Golf Club had an experience of renting equipment to automate an ice rink. But the club management was not satisfied with the quality of this equipment. After getting acquainted with the capabilities of BARS Payment and Access System, Customer concluded that it fully meets the requirements of their facility.

SOLUTION
To get to the ice rink, visitors buy either contactless plastic cards (MiFare standard), which are used repeatedly, or bar-coded tickets, which are suitable for one-time use. Customer has chosen a subscription payment system for the rink.
On the purchased card or ticket, customers deposit the amount of money for the number of riding sessions they want.

Turnstile for access to ice
With an RFID card or barcode ticket, visitors go to the access points to the ice arena and apply them to a RFID card/barcode reader built into the turnstile. The reader reads the required information and the turnstile lets the person onto the ice.

RESULT
As the rink was almost ready for the installation of BARS in November 2019, Bars IT employees finished all the works in a couple of weeks. So that season the rink opened with a modern payment and access system. BARS allowed the customer to make the work of the skating rink staff easier and increase its throughput. Due to the increased throughput capacity, the revenue of the rink also increases.
Those who have been to Skolkovo Golf Club rink at least once in the 2019-2020 season know how convenient it is to get to the ice area now.

In December 2019, a self-service ticket office was launched. It makes buying skating sessions even more comfortable for guests – you don't have to wait for a cashier to be free to buy a ticket. You can always use the automatic ticket office. It has become a convenient addition to the regular ticket office, as queues are reduced and the golf club is able to sell even more sessions.
